Cautious outlook from FedEx
Fedex has announced with it's quarterly results that it continues to recover at a steady rate but that internal issues will reduce profits.

Fedex Chief Executive Frederick Smith said he anticipates a very good year in 2011, forecasting solid growth in Fedex's European business.

Fedex reported it's 2010 quarter 4 sales rose over 20% to $9.4 billion. Mr Smith added "Fedex delivered strong results in our fourth quarter, thanks to sequential growth in package volume and our ability to leverage our unique global networks to take advantage of a recovering economy".

Despite the strong results Fedex Freight bucked the trend by operating at a loss with higher aircraft maintenance costs being a factor.
